1 Peter 3:12 For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.
If God is over those who is righteous… then who is righteous?
Romans 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
Isaiah 64:6a But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags;…
If no one is righteous, then who can be saved?
Romans 5:17 For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
Our righteousness is God’s. When we receive God’s Son Jesus we are imputed (covered) by His righteousness.
There are perks to being a child of God
Proverbs 8:32 Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways.
Romans 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
Proverbs 3:11 My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction:
12 For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.
God is not obligated to hear the prayer of the world
- The neighbor’s kids – This is the mindset I like to provide, consider the neighbors kids. I know they’re there, I even talk to them; but I am not responsible for them. I am obligated to hear my children, I am obligated to provide for them; but I am not obligated to do these for the neighbor’s kids. Why? They are not mine.
Good lessons for a child to hear
Psalms 34:11 Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
12 What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good?
13 Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.
14 Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.
15 The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.
16 The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
17 The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.
18 The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.
