There are alot of people's opinions floating around as to what it means to "be saved".
This is a first and necessary step. No matter how “good” we are we can never merit Heaven.
Romans 6:23a For the wages of sin is death;
Romans 6:23b but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
We can’t pray for you, this isn't about a ceremony or a chant; this is you talking to God. A prayer of repentance might go something like this:
“Lord God, I know I am a sinner. I believe You died on the cross for my sins. Right now, I repent from my sins and I accept You as my personal Lord and Saviour. Thank You for dying on the cross and saving me. In Jesus Christ’s name I pray, Amen.”
Notice this isn't a Church. You can accept Jesus' Gift at home, in the car, on the beach... anywhere. Church is a great place too; just not the ONLY place...
Sometimes religions want to complicate God's Simple Way of Salvation. God made salvation or "Getting Saved" easy and available for all that would call upon Him!
Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
