Enoch

 

Ge 5:18    And Jared lived an hundred sixty and two years, and he begat Enoch:

19    And Jared lived after he begat Enoch eight hundred years, and begat sons and daughters:

20    And all the days of Jared were nine hundred sixty and two years: and he died.

21    And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah:

22    And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters:

23    And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years:

24   And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.

1. It was a terrible time in the world:

14  And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,

15  To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

16  These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men’s persons in admiration because of advantage.

a. Enoch was a preacher of righteousness.

b. He Walked with God in spite of the world around him.

2. What does it mean, Walk with God?

a. Jesus said:

Jo 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.

11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.

b. Walking with God is simply obeying God and loving Him.

c. How can we walk with God.

1. coming to church.

2. telling someone about Jesus.

3. keeping the commandents like: honor your mother and father.

4. praying to Jesus because he is a great friend.

3. God took Enoch. 

a. God had a plan.

He 11:5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

b. There is another who walked with God.

Ge 6:8    But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.

9    These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.
